Setting out for a walk

I learned to love flats very quickly after being a heels girl for most of my adult days.  I walk to and from work, along with just about everywhere else I need to go; grocery store, bank, friends houses, etc.  These little yellow shoes got me around to many places and I always love coming home to my foyer as its the only one in the neighborhood tiled this way.

A little background...

I relocated to San Francisco for a job in April of 2010 and was immediately overwhelmed by EVERYTHING!! I came from a relatively small town, and even though I was in my late 20's I had never lived in a big town or major metropolitan city for that matter.  The sights, the sounds, the smells, the people; all of it enticed me and scared me and so in order to find my bearings within my neighborhood and familiarize myself with my new home I started taking pictures.  I posted them to my personal facebook page and have had so many requests to start an actual blog with my photos I finally decided, what the heck, why not! 

I've always been a lover of art and I found that the more I captured my surroundings, the more comfortable I became.  In the process I have stumbled upon some amazing, some silly, some funny sights and will continue to seek out the beauty that surrounds me.

I have fallen madly in love with San Francisco and appreciate it all now!  Some photos are old, some are new and sometimes I'm not even in the city at all :)
